The experience was transformative for me. The coaching really helped me on my self-awareness. Mark helped unlock a number of areas including my ability to do much more breakthrough thinking, which was integral to the vision, purpose, strategy and culture I set for the company.

There is something quite unique about Mark, which I have never seen at this level anywhere else. His ability to extract insights from interviews, to read into people and encapsulate it into feedback is unmatched in my experience. He so precise and delicate: every word he uses has a meaning and weight. And it takes some time to take it in and digest it.

I found Mark’s coaching to be incredibly helpful. He is able to flex in a way most people could not. He can work at a high level when needed, but dive into the details when needed. He can be a thought partner on strategic issues and yet also great in helping think through problems I was having with people.

I have been working with Mark for half a decade. I can’t count the number of ‘ah-ha’ moments that have felt like a clear light of clarity on a puzzling, knotty problem. The kind of step-change in thinking or feeling about a situation that shifts a problem into something that can effortlessly be navigated.

He was really listening, and he was a great teacher: he would often relate something I did to an example from something he had read or seen.

I found Mark’s assessment to be very robust and insightful, the most insightful assessment I have ever experienced.

I completely trust him. He is in it for you and you feel you can be totally honest and unvarnished.

I put a lot of trust in him. He is intelligent and quite inspiring. He is always prepared and can loop back to what was said in a previous session. He has taught me an enormous amount.

Being at this level can be a lonely experience and at one point I could bounce ideas off colleagues but at this point you cannot do that. I knew I could trust Mark with anything.

Mark gave enough of himself in the coaching exchange to be intellectually intimate. For me that was the foundation for the deep trust I have in him.

Mark worked with me methodically and carefully, investing time and care, to truly understand where I had got to, and what was important to me. His questions and interest made it a safe space to be able to work it out for myself.

With regard to structure vs. versatility, I felt that Mark would go where he needed to go depending on where I was, while always bringing it back to some framework or agreed point of focus. He excels at picking up on non-verbal cues and is a highly sensing individual.

Mark’s genius is in knowing how to trust his instinct to create a space where I feel like we have co-created an insight, or that it has arrived to me rather than Mark giving instruction. This approach means that I feel ever-growing confidence in myself & my ability to chart uncertain waters. Mark’s approach is intuitive & holistic.

His instincts are excellent. He listens hard and shows insight and calmness as he helps you peel back the onion.

With Mark I can see how the professional & the personal interweave to make me a better leader and a better investor. I have often thought ‘I couldn’t do this without Mark’.

For any type of coaching or debate, linking the business context and the learning topic is important and Mark is good at connecting those dots. He helps you put things in a certain perspective to understand the full picture.

He is very pointed, very clear and excellent at using concrete examples to bring situations to life or illustrate a particular concept. He knows enough about the industry and about business in general to understand the realities that I am facing and thus have meaningful and helpful conversations.

He has opened out some important frameworks to me: he could take any scenario I gave to him and put it into the frameworks we had been working with. This appeals to me because it really allowed me to understand it. We could explore many levels yet hold onto the core without the ideas spreading out so far that you forget them. I found it so valuable.

He knows about board dynamics and how executive teams operate, and helped me think about how to position key messages in a way that was phenomenally helpful.
